Triple Elimination
“Iron man will meets martial arts skill”
Why Triple Elimination?
A triple elimination tournament gives each competitor at least three opportunities to spar before being eliminated from the competition. Participants will have ample chances to demonstrate their skills and strategy, even if they face a tough opponent early on. By allowing for more matches, competitors can learn from each experience, refine their techniques, and adapt their game plans. This enhances the overall quality of the tournament and also provides a fairer assessment of each contender’s capabilities.
Additionally, it encourages resilience and determination, as fighters must maintain focus and energy throughout multiple bouts. Tournament winners may ultimately have to battle through 25 minutes of sparring in the course of the day! This may not sound like much, but in fact will be a serious test of stamina and ability. Spectators also benefit from the excitement of seeing athletes progress and evolve over the course of the event, making for a dynamic and engaging experience for all involved.
The triple elimination format features three brackets for each division: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Winners stay in the Gold bracket, while losers will be moved to the Silver and Bronze brackets. Every competitor will have an opportunity to spar at least three times in each tournament.
As the tournament goes on each competitor is matched with someone who has a similar record. Every match will be challenging, and every match will count. There will be no tiebreaker scenarios within the brackets. There will be clear first, second and third place winners.
